hits & hmms // the highs & lows of london (part one!)
Because our 10-day itinerary stemmed from wanting to spend time in London, we were overly excited to have almost four full days. London was the perfect finale to our trip, and we’re already aching to get back and see even more of the city. Much like New York and Paris, there’s a reason people count it as one of the greatest cities in the world. Naturally, that also means there’s more to see than you can ever fit in one (or two or three) trips. Luckily, I loved London so much that I don’t even have any misses. So instead,…

a very upper east side thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! In honor of the holiday (and to give a glimpse of true Thanksgiving gluttony to all our non-American readers), we’ve put together a little photo essay. This past Saturday, we achieved the unimaginable. The Romantic and the Hubs hosted a Thanksgiving feast for 12 in their Upper East Side apartment. A full-on sit down meal complete with a 20lb turkey, stuffing, casseroles, mac and cheese, about four variations of potatoes, and a spread of desserts. Applaud here. Today we sit down for round two of the Thanksgiving festivities. Happy carbo-loading! xo, the romantic & the wino photo…

jetsetters: @stacey_liezl
Today’s Jetsetter has roots we’re seriously jealous of: born in Cape Town, currently living in the UK, and with a three-year stint teaching in South Korea, Stacey also traveled to Thailand and the Philippines while writing for 10 Magazine. Oh ok, can we have your life? On top of it all, she emailed us with this cute little quip: “I’ve been back in the UK for 9 months and still get itchy feet.” Stacey Liezl, we’d like to formally ask you to be our best friend (and take us to Cape Town with you). Enjoy reading her travel tales below,…

à bientôt, new york
To my dear friend, New York City, I’ve spent the last fourteen months with you, and boy was it great. To the rest of the world, you’re a star. You’re Carrie Bradshaw and Miracle on 34th Street and the place where Ross and Rachel fell in love. You’re the city that never sleeps. The place that Frank Sinatra croons about and the place Lady Gaga calls her hometown. To me, you aren’t any of these things. To me, you’re a little bit of a bitch. You eat my hard-earned paycheck for breakfast. You smell a little funny, especially in the…

four days in london
I’m not going to say that hubs and I were in a rush to leave Brussels, but I will say that we tried to move our train up to Wednesday and contemplated the £200 fee (I contemplated it, hubs automatically said no. I then contemplated leaving hubs in Brussels). But we stuck it out, and Thursday morning we woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, and made our way to London via Eurostar. Day 1 – THURSDAY Morning & Afternoon – After our lovely ride through the Belgian and French countrysides, we arrived at St. Pancras Station. This was exactly…
