foodie break: @CioppinoSF

Since most of our first day in San Francisco centered around the SoMa and Union Square neighborhoods, we knew we wanted to spend our second and final day exploring. And by exploring, we normally mean eating and drinking, which is TOTALLY NORMAL and perfectly acceptable way to acclimate to a new city, ok? Many of our meals up until this point had featured local northern California ingredients and freshly caught seafood, and we have to say, we were hooked (see what we did there?). Why not get ourselves closer to the action and head to Fisherman’s Wharf, the historic waterfront neighborhood known for its Italian heritage and cuisine? Cioppino’s, a fourth-generation family run restaurant, is one…

weekend warriors: the lazy girls’ guide to napa

After an entirely unintentional hiatus, we’re back! Back in action! Well, you know, we hope. We fully intend to be back. Sometimes life gets in the way, but what can you do? Instead of dwelling on the fact that we haven’t properly blogged in what feels like forevs, let us instead focus on everything we loved about Napa… which was, well, everything.  But before we get to Napa, let’s backtrack for just a sec. The plan: awake, bright eyed & bushy tailed, in our beautiful suites overlooking San Francisco, and let our eyes adjust to the soft light filling our rooms (night #2, use the curtains, lesson learned). Don adorable sundresses to match the unseasonably…

video sneak peek: 24 hours in napa valley

Hey, we warned you. Back in January, we said! We’re going to do more videos! 2015 is the year we pretend to understand iMovie! Naturally, this meant that on our first joint trip of 2015, we forced our husbands to keep their iPhones at the ready for any video-worthy moments… so they, not wanting to be caught unprepared, videoed about 10-20 seconds of every single thing we did. This meant that we had about an hour’s worth of clips to work with, but one clear, common theme: eating, drinking, and actin’ a fool. Without further ado, our very first JOINT video of 2015: a sneak peek at our 24-hour love affair with the Napa Valley.…

weekend warriors: 36 hours in san francisco

One thing is clear: March 2015, you were amaze. As long distance besties, we don’t take our limited time together for granted, but last month, we just may have seen each other more than when we lived four blocks apart! …OK, that’s definitely not true. But, still! Going from daily gchat seshes to two different getaways of 24/7 girl time? We were pretty spoiled. To top it all off, we’ve officially added a new favorite city to our repertoire. That’s right, San Francisco, you passed the “would I live here?” test with flying colors. And, dear travelers, though we are by no means experts on this new-to-us city, here’s what we can strongly suggest for…

#LTselects: @andaznapa

With only two other entries since its inception in September, we’ve kept our #LTselects club highly exclusive. First, there was the charming boutique inn in Lexington, Massachusetts, which was a no-brainer for our very first inductee. Then, we extended the offer to the oldest wine bar in London, because… do we need another reason? The Oldest Wine Bar in London. And now, our newest selection combines both! Our latest #LTselects fave is a charming, boutique hotel in the heart of America’s most famous wine region. Why did we love The Andaz Napa? The location // Since we didn’t do much (any) advance research on Napa, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the Andaz was…
