style spotter: greece

I have realized that, despite my extreme amounts of love for this continent, Europe is dangerous. I mean, not in the old fashioned raping and pillaging sort of way. It’s much less obvious. As soon as I set foot on European soil, be it Eastern or Western, my mind immediately shoots to all the places I could go. Everything is so close! So accessible! So many cities for me to conquer! Coastlines to explore! SO MUCH TO SEE! But the worst part? There are so many places in Europe where I’ve already left my heart, and way, WAY too places I want to re-visit again and again and again. I’m currently making my way up…

style spotter: malaga, spain

BREAKING NEWS: It’s sweltering in NYC. Like, really really hot. And I have to be honest, extreme heat isn’t my thing. My hair will vouch for that. On days like these, all I can think about is sipping a drink with my toes in the sand. I know, I know– I have my trip to Toronto this weekend and my big Eastern European rendezvous with the romantic is only weeks away. But can you really blame a girl for doing a little travel daydreaming on a blistering hot Thursday in New York? I DIDN’T THINK SO. After stalking browsing Mrs O Around the World’s  recent pictures from Mallorca, I’m thinking I might have to give Spain another chance.…

style spotter: marina bay sands hotel, singapore

During our recent 48 hour whirlwind tour of Singapore, the hubs and I made the mistake of heading up to the roof of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. I say mistake because alas, our budget did not allow for an actual room in the hotel… which means it also did not allow for anytime spent lounging by their amazing infinity pool overlooking all of Singapore: Naturally, those who were swimming were dressed to the nines and were the type of people who still looked perfectly coiffed even as they climbed out of the pool. Life is so unfair. Though it wasn’t in the cards this round, I trust that we’ll find ourselves back at the…

style spotter: nyc sunday brunch

For New Yorkers, there’s one word that’s synonymous with Sunday: brunch. It’s practically a rite of passage. We’ll travel from one end of the city to the next to try the huevos rancheros at the tiny hole in the wall that was written about in New York Mag. We’ll wait in an hour-long line for a table, as long as we have sunglasses to shield our bloodshot eyes from the night before (added bonus if the restaurant allows you to have a drink while you wait). Brunch is hands down the best event of the week. End of story. It seems like many moons ago that the romantic & I shared a New York brunch.…

style spotter: yasawa island

Ohhh man, are you guys in for a treat. Thanks to the incredible genius of my red-headed counterpart, we’re officially launching a new Lazy Travelers series! It turns out, there’s more to the romantic & the wino than a love of travel and red wine. Like most girls, and especially New York twenty-something girls that work in the fashion industry, I also reallllly love clothes. I’ve realized that my past travels have had a major influence on my personal style. My propensity to wear mostly black, for instance, stems from six months living in Paris, and my love of Topshop hails from my year in Dublin. Both of us are continually inspired by the places…
