foodie break // california love at @SaltsCure

One of the best perks of my “real life” job is that I occasionally get to travel, and more often than not, to cities that I love. Back in February, when the east coast cold had me feeling blue, I was happy to escape to Los Angeles for a long weekend, even though I would be working for the majority of my trip. With work events on both Friday and Saturday, I didn’t have too much down-time to enjoy LA, but when traveling for work, I always try to squeeze in at least one or two moments of “me” time to explore the area or enjoy a nice meal. Coincidentally, one of my best friends,…

travel announcement: going back back to cali cali

With arctic temperatures in Philadelphia this past weekend and snow falling outside my apartment window as I write this, I can’t think of a better time to make my latest travel announcement. At the end of the week, I’m heading across the country to Los Angeles and Orange County, California! Here’s the catch: it’s a work trip. This means the majority (read: almost all) will be scheduled with work events. However, that doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy the sunny, warm weather and a weekend escape from the winter cold on the east coast. foodie break: @CioppinoSF

Since most of our first day in San Francisco centered around the SoMa and Union Square neighborhoods, we knew we wanted to spend our second and final day exploring. And by exploring, we normally mean eating and drinking, which is TOTALLY NORMAL and perfectly acceptable way to acclimate to a new city, ok? Many of our meals up until this point had featured local northern California ingredients and freshly caught seafood, and we have to say, we were hooked (see what we did there?). Why not get ourselves closer to the action and head to Fisherman’s Wharf, the historic waterfront neighborhood known for its Italian heritage and cuisine? Cioppino’s, a fourth-generation family run restaurant, is one…

a perfect day in sonoma

Fun fact!: the whole reason LTsf came together in the first place is because Jeff had a work trip to San Francisco. He’s had enough professional escapades around Europe sans moi, so as soon as he mentioned an upcoming 12-hour flight across the pond, I sweetly offered to accompany him. “Whaaaatt!!! I’ve always wanted to go to San Francisco! TAKE ME!!!!!” Throw in the wino’s equally convincing argument (that it was unfair to leave her out, duh), and the hubs realized that it actually is rude to travel without us. Plus, who would take pics like this if it was just the two of us all the time? The only catch, however, is that while…

weekend warriors: the lazy girls’ guide to napa

After an entirely unintentional hiatus, we’re back! Back in action! Well, you know, we hope. We fully intend to be back. Sometimes life gets in the way, but what can you do? Instead of dwelling on the fact that we haven’t properly blogged in what feels like forevs, let us instead focus on everything we loved about Napa… which was, well, everything.  But before we get to Napa, let’s backtrack for just a sec. The plan: awake, bright eyed & bushy tailed, in our beautiful suites overlooking San Francisco, and let our eyes adjust to the soft light filling our rooms (night #2, use the curtains, lesson learned). Don adorable sundresses to match the unseasonably…
