There were many things I hoped to achieve by spending one year in France and now, here we are—almost on the other side. We’re older, we’re wiser (well, at least the hubs is; he’s officially a monsieur of business administration, after all). We’re not much more fluent in French than the day we moved in, and I never did learn how to make croissants entirely on my own and from scratch… and yes, fine, the metric system continues to stump me both in the kitchen and on the road. photo escape: colmar & the alsace wine route

Somehow, time is very quickly getting away from me. One minute, we were all bundled up in the dead of winter, counting down the seconds until we leave country living behind for bigger & better (read: a city). The next minute, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, the blossoms are blooming, and the French countryside? Well, it isn’t looking so bad.
