a very rockville weekend, the redux

Happy Monday, travelers! We need to apologize. We were HORRIBLE bloggers this weekend. Remember when we brainstormed all the amazing things we were going to do? Yeah, we did ABOUT zero of them. Except for the beer one, of course. Here’s the thing: this was everything we needed out of our little weekend reunion, so we can’t be that sorry. Yes, it would have been great to head into DC and have adventures and try a fancy new restaurant. But sometimes, you wake up and it’s a little cold and drizzly, and you just need to give into the fact that your day is going to change directions. We know we preach it a lot around…

reunion plans! (rockville, here i come)

As mentioned yesterday, it’s officially one week until our reunion!  I’m pretty much bursting at the seems at this point, and we’re already brainstorming daily about what we want to do, where we want to go, and duh… what we’re going to eat. Founding Farmers – The wino & the BF introduced this gem to me during our last Very Rockville Reunion and I can’t stop thinking about their brunch. As the hubs also appreciates a good mid-day boozy meal, I’m thinking a Sunday re-do may be a necessity? Image Medium Rare – I just read about this place and it sounds so much like Le Relais de l’Entrecôte that I can’t imagine it could be bad. I mean,…

fallin for great falls

Waking up on a Sunday sans hangover is rare in the lazy travelers universe. And so when Sunday morning came around and my head was free and clear of that familiar post-wine misery, I decided to take life by horns…or the bootstraps?…whatever it is you say when you seize the day. a very dc/rockville reunion: a lesson in being a hostess with the mostest

Was this weekend a mirage? Did a Lazy Travelers reunion really happen, or was it a dream to remind me how much more fun my life was when I had a third roomie? I mean, the wino had to sleep on an air mattress and the hubs had to deal with being ganged up on 120% of the time, so maybe they’ll feel differently, but things I miss: November 2011. Side bar: the wino’s boyfriend needs an alias and will not appreciate if I go back to calling him LL, even if it IS in honor of the first time we met. The wino had told me he was the heir to LL Bean and…

countdown to the reunion!

I’ve been trying to brainstorm ideas for a post for the last two hours but my mind is all clouded with excitement for my weekend! In approximately 36 hours the romantic and the wino will be reunited for the first time in THREE MONTHS! This may be our longest tenure apart since we lived across the Atlantic from each other. And booooy do we have plans! By plans, I mean the romantic may have sent me a text with her weekend requirements: wine and cheese. Done and done. Look, we don’t ever set out to be completely irresponsible, but more often than not, our plans take a turn for the lazy pretty early on (see:…
