a mini reunion & a failed ode to brunch

If there’s one thing we love, it’s brunch. Pair this with the fact that we were briefly together in Philadelphia this weekend, and you basically have the recipe for the most perfect Sunday Funday! Oh right, so, small confession: we’ve kinda been holding out on you. Last weekend, we were blissfully reunited in Philadelphia… for about five minutes. We meant to loop you in a bit more, and if you were paying close attention to Instagram and Twitter, you maybe picked up on the fact that we were in the same place at the same time! Ahhh, America. Unfortunately for us, due to the wino’s currently insane work schedule and the romantic’s tight turnaround —…

city dwellers: philadelphia’s center city

We may have grown up outside of Philadelphia, but that doesn’t make us experts on the City of Brotherly Love. When we kicked off our weeklong tour of the patriotic east coast, we knew we wanted to spend some time re-exploring Philly, especially now that the wino will soon be calling it home. Like any city, Philadelphia is chock-full of fun neighborhoods, each with it’s own distinct vibe. Because we only had two short days, we chose to stick to Center City — mostly for convenience, but also because it’s loaded with hotspots (new and old) that we wanted to test out. Though we spent a good amount of out time in Center City drinking…

sneak peek: #LTeastcoast

It’s hard to believe, but we’re already two cities down on our grand tour of the east coast. Today, we say goodbye to the Big Apple and head north to Beantown. How have we been spending our time so far? Eating and drinking, of course! Last night, the wino spent happy hour at Gallow Green in Chelsea and dinner at Toro, while the romantic took a stroll through Central Park and met friends uptown for dinner at Busters NYC. While we’ve spent the majority of our time visiting our old haunts and shoving our faces with American-ish food that the romantic and the hubs have missed so dearly during their time in France, this weekend we head…

#LTeastcoast: philadelphia, new york city, & boston

Surrrrprise! After four months apart, the romantic and the wino are reunited and ready to cause havoc in the good ole U-S-of-A. Since we’re feeling super patriotic (we DO drink Budweiser, after all), what better way to celebrate the July 4th weekend than kick off a seven-day tour of the historic east coast? As you may have guessed, we’re hitting up some of our old favorites. But don’t despair, wanderlusters — we’ve added a brand new city into the mix as well. Check out our itinerary here, and be sure to follow along on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as we make our way up the east coast. Part One: Philadelphia Where we’re staying // To kick off…

SURPRISE! #LTeastcoast

We’ve been coy, it’s true. #LTcoast2coast wrapped last week, and while we appreciated our times along the Atlantic’s separate coasts, more exciting news is in store… WE’RE WRITING THIS FROM THE SAME ROOM! Yes oh yes, it’s true. Today, after four whole months, we reunited in the City of Brotherly Love, in adjoining rooms at The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. WHICH we booked via Roomkey, but more on all this later. Honestly, the most important thing is we’re here, we’re happy, and we have much in store for the next two weeks. Stay tuned for all our plans this week, because they are aplenty. xoxo, the romantic & the wino
