style spotter // palm springs

Ahh springtime. That glorious season full of pastels & new blooms & the promise of warmer days. Coincidentally, it’s also when we start getting serious about summer vaca. We admit, our joint plans this year are up in the air. We vowed in Spain and Portugal to always meet in August for a week of luxury, but we have no idea when or where or how this year. Currently, our minds are wandering west. Though we successfully explored NorCal together two years ago, a return to the West Coast is in the cards and lately, we’ve been perusing Palm Spring vacation rentals. Though Carolyn is always happy to make the hop across the pond for…

the lazy girl’s guide to traveling with a baby // 0-12 months

I promise not to bore you with all the mom cliches, but earlier this year, my little lazy baby turned one. I can’t believe how quickly a year went, so much has happened, etc., etc. Instead, I’ll bore you with something else! Unsolicited advice about something I’m now mildly familiar with, and as such, am an expert. There’s a whole chapter about it in the manual they give you at new parent orientation. Today’s topic? Margot’s first flight was when she was just over seven weeks old. Since then, she’s been across the Atlantic on four roundtrip flights, visited nine countries, and traversed over a dozen cities. We’ve taken her on trains and planes and road trips, and have a line-up of adventures…

#LTfriendsgiving // the lazy girl’s guide to celebrating holidays abroad

Having been best friends for almost twenty years (!), we’ve developed quite a few Lazy Travelers’ traditions, but our absolute favorite has to be our annual #LTfriendsgiving. Since our time in New York, we’ve made Thanksgiving together a yearly event, and in 2013, we took it on the road to Ashley and Jeff’s cottage in Fontainebleau, France. Since then, we’ve carved the turkey in Henley-on-Thames, England in 2014, Val d’Isère, France in 2015, and this past November, Montreal, Canada. [photo via instagram] Though we’ve become masters at taking the festivities on the road, we originally found it a bit tough to try and recreate the magic of one of our favorite holidays without our usual resources. Now in our fourth year abroad, we’ve put…

#LTgreekweek // mykonos is for insta-lovers

If you followed along on our trip to Mykonos with My Greek Villa, then you already know we had an amazing week filled with stunning views and insanely delicious food. It’s no question that Mykonos is a dream destination for foodies, honeymooners & girls’ getaways, but one thing you might not have guessed is that it’s the PERFECT place for anyone obsessed with Instagram. * raises hands * Guilty as charged. Though we’ve had our account for quite awhile, and have posted on it pretty religiously, this year took us to destinations that really helped us up our insta-game. HEART EYE EMOJIS FOR THESE COLORS. (you should follow us @lazytravelers) We figured not all our blog readers are on Instagram, so we wanted…

#LTgreekweek // the lazy girls’ guide to off-season dining in mykonos

As you may know, we’re long-time fans of traveling during the off-season. The pace is slower, the locals are friendlier, and best of all, the prices are lower. Now that one of us is traveling with a baby, shoulder season travel is more appealing than ever — especially when you’re visiting a destination that’s also known as one of Greece’s top party islands. While Mykonos and its club scene go hand-in-hand, visiting in October meant that most places were starting to close down for the year. Fortunately, friends and readers who know the island well knew just where to send us (admittedly not club goers, even in our younger years), and we spent our week…
