a tour of morocco // 3 riads, 2 cities, 1 weekend
Since our first trip to Morocco just before Christmas 2013, I had been itching to return. Our tour of Morocco via Marrakech and roadtrip out to the Sahara sparked something. That something was a real need to properly shop the souks. We flew EasyJet on our first trip, so there was truly no way anything I’d buy would make it back. Their €60 baggage fee just wasn’t in the cards at the time, due to both a student budget and PRINCIPLES. Fast forward to earlier this year, when an invitation to crash a girls’ weekend popped up. If you’ve been…

the wino takes on the big apple: part deux!
I know what you’re thinking. Where the HELL have I been? That’s a very valid question, friends. To make a long story short, let’s just say: a little bit of here and a little bit of there. As you may know, I’m back in New York City with my beloved blogging counterpart (can we get an AMEN?). I promise that as soon as the dust settles I will get back into my regularly scheduled programming and regale you with the stories of my misadventures. Until then, here’s the short of it: DC? No bueno. Philly? Whirlwind. Job? Came out of…

the great gramercy sunday funday bar crawl
Last weekend, I finally made my triumphant return to the city of all cities. My former stomping grounds, the home of the romantic & the hubs, the big old apple: New York City. Most specifically, I enjoyed the most perfect Gramercy Sunday funday. Unfortunately, my red-headed counterpart and her beau are zip-lining around Costa Rica. This meant couldn’t be in attendance, but I made sure I paid proper homage to one of my favorite cities. I very happily enjoyed a whirlwind 24 hours of drinking and eating. I have my gracious host to thank, the Scholar (remember her?), for showing…

weekend warriors // a perfect day in galway
I love autumn — this much you know is true. But, as the days get cooler and my life transforms from the laid-back days of summer to the hustle and bustle of fall, I jump at the chance to escape. When I moved to Ireland for my Master’s program, it took maybe two weeks of grad school before the Scholar and I were desperate for a reprieve. And just like that, a trip to Galway was born. Because we only had a long weekend and a very limited budget, we chose to stay in Ireland — Galway was an easy…

city girl, country girl // the best of bucks county, pennsylvania
When I was growing up in rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I couldn’t wait to grow up and get out. I’m a city girl afterall. I’ve known that since my first trip to New York City at a snotty age six. I ordered calamari, ceasar salad, and tea in a midtown restaurant, much to my mother’s amusement. I was convinced I was Eloise, destined to live in the Plaza. Instead, I was tragically trapped in a small Pennsylvania farm town. I knew there was a whole world to explore outside of cow pastures and corn fields! I was determined to see…
