reunion plans! (rockville, here i come)

As mentioned yesterday, it’s officially one week until our reunion!  I’m pretty much bursting at the seems at this point, and we’re already brainstorming daily about what we want to do, where we want to go, and duh… what we’re going to eat. Founding Farmers – The wino & the BF introduced this gem to me during our last Very Rockville Reunion and I can’t stop thinking about their brunch. As the hubs also appreciates a good mid-day boozy meal, I’m thinking a Sunday re-do may be a necessity? Image Medium Rare – I just read about this place and it sounds so…

    travel therapy

After a four-day weekend relaxing in sunny Bucks County, I’m having a more difficult time than normal adjusting back to my routine in Rockville. Maybe its the unseasonably warm weather (90 degrees in DC yesterday??) or the proximity to summer, and thus vacations? Whatever it is, I have a case of ants-in-the-pants that just won’t go away! And while plenty of people are well acquainted with retail therapy, I personally prefer travel therapy. The best way to deal with my impatience? Laying out a few impending travel plans on this here trusty travel blog, but of course. I know you’re…

    the importance of park-hopping

Is anyone else cursing Mother Nature for giving us what is hands down the most gorgeous day of the year on a MONDAY? Ok, good, me too. This weekend, the hubs and I took Parker McPugface to the dog parks in Carl Shurz Park, which is basically my most favorite park in all of Manhattan. Forget that Parker doesn’t really DO dog parks–we tried both the large and small dog runs and he sat off to the side and stared at us. Carl Shurz is on the East River and the running/walking/strolling-pushing (duh, it IS the Upper East Side) path…

    i DO heart new york!

This weekend was one of those staycation-type weekends that cured just a little bit of my latest streak of New York angst. I go through this every single time we move–mostly because it makes me realize just how absurd and expensive it is to survive in this city. Lucky for me, my sister came to visit this weekend and the hubs and I were forced to find the best of the best to entertain her (she’s very demanding) (total joke, she’s a complete #1, remember?). Aside from the usual requirements of food, food, and more delicious food, we also made…
