on missing manhattan
The wino is making her second return to New York in less than a month, and this time it’s even more exciting because I’m actually HERE! While I wait for her pending arrival, it’s only natural that I’m getting a little nostalgic–and looking through photos for this post isn’t helping. In fact, scanning photos of our time as neighbors/co-workers/roomies/sister-wives has me missing Manhattan. Sounds weird, right? I mean, I’ve been here–mostly–the whole time. She’s been gone for ten months, which doesn’t sound like that long, but in New York terms? Ten months is a lifetime. In the ten months since…

going for the gold: our top three travel memories
Though we just spent the better part of the last two weeks chiding ourselves for failing at Olympic careers we never even knew we wanted, we have good news! We’ve found a way to console ourselves! And it’s not wine! What, you ask, can make us feel better about the fact that we weren’t born to be Missy Franklin and McKayla Maroney? WELL, we’ve been asked to be a part of a blogger rally. The first hotel of our Costa Rican getaway was Finca Rosa Blanca. Having just googled a literal translation, I’m pretty confused as to why it’s telling me this means “white rose farm” in Spanish. In reality, Finca Rosa Blanca is a coffee plantation. Also, there is a very real chance…

travel announcement // and to our great white north…
As a brief break from our regularly scheduled Costa Rican recaps, I’d like to make an announcement. The hubs and I, after careful deliberation, have set our sights upon our next destination. As you may have guessed, we’re heading north… to the Great White North, in fact!: Montreal! Ok, so is Canada stilled called the Great White North even if you don’t go when it’s snowing? I actually don’t know the reference, I just know it’s a thing people say. ANNNYWAY. That’s right, the hubs and I will be spending a long weekend with our neighbors to the north. It’s…
