The Lazy Travelers are two transatlantic best friends who have mastered the art of exploring a new city. Though Ashley is based in London and Carolyn is in Philadelphia, we'll use any excuse to reunite around the world. We’re professional bar hoppers, pub crawlers, and food testers, and you’ll never see us zipping around, checking things off a list of “must-sees.”

    jetsetters: @MarioTravels

Today’s jetsetter is one of our favorite travel tweeters. Based in Brooklyn (which just so happens to be our second favorite borough), Mario’s travel tales have single-handedly moved Guadeloupe and Copenhagen way up on our list, and we can’t wait to hear every detail on his upcoming trip to Ireland (the wino’s got a year’s worth of recs for you, Mario!!) Enjoy! Favorite Place: My favorite place is Bosie Tea Parlor in New York City’s West Village.  It’s quiet, quaint and has a great tea and macaron selection.  Anyone who knows me knows that travel and tea are always on my…

bucket list takedown: walking the brooklyn bridge

I tend to get a little complacent once I’ve settled in somewhere new. When I first moved to New York, I couldn’t wait to tick things of my never-ending list of to-dos. Strolling through Central Park. Spending days exploring the Met. Walking the Brooklyn Bridge. Brunching somewhere new every Sunday. Unfortunately, working as an assistant in the fashion and entertainment industry meant twelve hour days. I had almost no free time for my first few months. With only four weeks left, I couldn’t believe how little I had actually seen. Creating my bucket list was a way to ensure I…

    two days in brussels

Here’s the thing with Brussels: it is an oddly disjointed city. In New York, you can walk five blocks and land in a new neighborhood with a different feel than where you just came from. You can’t really pinpoint when it changed, but somehow, almost magically, it did. There’s a flow to this city, and seamlessly transitioning from touristy to bohemian to ritzy in just a few steps is part of the allure. Brussels, on the other hand, practically shoves you into a new neighborhood without asking. We’d be walking on a cobbled side street, people watching and trying to…

    bucket list takedown: luke’s lobster

My favorite thing in the world, second only to drinking wine, is trying new foods. It’s no coincidence that many of my travel stories revolve around restaurants and cafes and a good number of my bucket list items have to do with food. See: Luke’s Lobster. This little gem of a food truck has been the object of my fascination since my move here last September. The Romantic and I avidly follow their tweets, anxiously awaiting their location announcement each day. And what luck! On Tuesday afternoon, they were parked only blocks from our office. A quick walk and $17…
