hotel living // my home away from home away from home
When it comes to hotel living, the logical, sensible side of me has pretty minimal requirements. Hotels must be clean, centrally located, and come complete with a friendly, helpful staff. But at the same time, one of my favorite parts about a vacation is hotel living. I can’t help it! Sometimes I even ask hubs if we can stay in a hotel in Manhattan, just for fun. He says no 100% of the time. We’ve been pretty lucky when we go away, so I get my hotel fix pretty regularly. Of course we’ve had our fair share of ridiculous places…

a perfect day in cape may, new jersey
In an article I recently read on guidance for the aspiring travel writer, the reader was advised against sharing personal recounts of their trips. One of the big reasons people shy away from having a dog is because of travel, and we can see why. Lucky for us, our families live close enough to give him a little vacation of his own. Parker Jones has become quite the seasoned traveler since we rescued him four years ago, but alas, flying our…

we get by with a little help from our friends
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – it doesn’t hurt to have friends in the right places. I’m not ashamed to say that I take full advantage of my boyfriend’s beach house, my best friend’s cabin on the lake, and if a friend moves away, I make it my mission to make a vacation out of visiting them. Case in point – this weekend, I’m traveling to the beautiful seaside town of Cape May, NJ where my college roommate has a vacation home. I’ve got friends in high places, and because of this, I’ve traveled the globe.…
