The Lazy Travelers are two transatlantic best friends who have mastered the art of exploring a new city. Though Ashley is based in London and Carolyn is in Philadelphia, we'll use any excuse to reunite around the world. We’re professional bar hoppers, pub crawlers, and food testers, and you’ll never see us zipping around, checking things off a list of “must-sees.”

    jetsetters: @ChristophrWood

Happy Wine Wednesday! Today’s jetsetter is Christopher Wood: bff and roomie of Edward Schmit, and, having recently starred in the national tour of Spring Awakening, he’s pretty much the closest thing we’ve had to a celebrity around here. So, only knowing him through Eddie and his answers below, we’ll give you a little preview. Likes: coffee, humping people on stage, and living in a house in Astoria. Dislikes: eating young suckling pig hearts. Enjoy! Favorite Place: Florence. More importantly, favorite meal: I had the most phenomenal whole-wheat spaghetti carbonara in Assisi. Honestly, I had never been much of a pasta eater, but…

city girl, country girl // the best of bucks county, pennsylvania

When I was growing up in rural Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I couldn’t wait to grow up and get out. I’m a city girl afterall. I’ve known that since my first trip to New York City at a snotty age six. I ordered calamari, ceasar salad, and tea in a midtown restaurant, much to my mother’s amusement. I was convinced I was Eloise, destined to live in the Plaza. Instead, I was tragically trapped in a small Pennsylvania farm town. I knew there was a whole world to explore outside of cow pastures and corn fields! I was determined to see…

    weekend in philadelphia

One year ago yesterday, I woke up a married lady, said goodbye to our friends and family who came to celebrate with us, shoved my face with leftover wedding cake (aka the only thing I ate in 24 hours), and took off for JFK, hand-in-hand with my new hubs. We had a whirlwind 15 day honeymoon in Cairo, Venice, Cinque Terre, Florence, and Rome (with a few random stops in between), and it’s hard to believe that we’re already moving into not-quite-newlywed status. So this weekend, we traded one city for another and celebrated. We checked into our room at…

    playing tourist in our hometown

Ahhhh Friday. Never have we been so happy to see you. We’re planning to be back to a normal posting schedule next week after a nice relaxing weekend. The wino is spending her next few days in Bucks County celebrating her brother’s graduation and enjoying the simple life, while hubs and I are off for a little weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary! So where are we headed? The city of love & romance & all things beautiful! Philadelphia! … no? Not the reputation our hometown has? In reality, we’re going because we were married in Philadelphia one year ago…

    jetsetters: better late than never!

You know it’s a bad week when we completely forget to post our weekly jetsetter. But don’t fret, today is the official last day of New York Fashion Week and then we will be ALL yours. It’s been a crazy week of 14 hour days, nights with the self-proclaimed movers and shakers of the industry, and a few moments of stress-filled backstage time in the tents. We can’t say we’re sad to see you go, NYFW. So without further ado, today’s jetsetter comes from the romantic’s one and only daddio–born and raised in Philadelphia, he moved across the country in…
