#LTselects: gordon’s wine bar
With just over two weeks to go until the wino becomes mrs. the wino, we’ve been spending most of our time here at LT headquarters talking on gchat about what’s still on her to do list, everything she’ll eat on her honeymoon, and how much champagne we’re going to drink (TOGETHER! REUNITED!) in about 13 days and counting. This should come as no surprise. Wine & champagne is at the heart of every great celebration. When we were together in London in November, a trip to the city’s oldest wine bar, Gordon’s Wine Bar, was very obviously in order. Spoiler…

scotland: so these are the highlands…
The morning after what shall henceforth be known as the Glasgow Catastrophe, we woke up… hopeful. We were heading to the Highlands, and things couldn’t get worse, right? RIGHT? Eh, right. Things didn’t get worse, per se, but they most certainly didn’t get better. We woke up well before sunrise and just a bit bleary eyed, threw on our roadtrip clothes (god bless you, leggings and oversized flannel) (um, on me, not the hubs) and zipped out of the city, en route to Glencoe. 12 hours in dublin // the ultimate first-timer’s pub crawl
Because my fiance knows me so very well, he surprised me with 12 hours in Dublin via an overnight layover after our whirlwind three-day adventure in London. If you recall, I spent a year living in Ireland during grad school. I have since been chomping at the bit to take Sean back! I wanted to show him the homeland, and all of the pubs places I loved during my time there. We arrived at 5 PM, giving me approximately twelve hours to show my Dublin first-timer a taste Ireland. And what better way to explore than via the best pubs…

one night in glasgow: where things went awry
Hello and welcome to 2015! The holidays were everything we needed this year. They were relaxing, full of good food, and complete with lots of catch-up seshes with loved ones. This outcome was a huge relief, because things did NOT start off on the best foot. It started, unexpectedly, one night in Glasgow. If you’ll recall, shortly before our generous holiday break (thank you, European vacation standards), we made some last minute plans to head up to Scotland for a few days. We had return train tickets from London to Glasgow, a motorhome ready and waiting, and a loose itinerary…

three top euro destinations that no one’s talking about
If you’re planning a holiday getaway, chances are you have a few obvious destinations on your list. Perhaps a trip to Vienna or Berlin to stroll the traditional Christmas markets? Or a family getaway to Aspen or Vail to hit the slopes? By the time New Year’s Eve rolls around, you may be on your way to Edinburgh for Hogmanay! Or New York City’s Time Square to watch the ball drop (god bless your soul)! But what about the top Euro destinations that don’t get enough love? We’ve had our fair share of ski trips and holiday markets in traditional…
