sneak peek: #LTeastcoast & the big apple
It’s hard to believe, but we’re already checked two cities off our #LTeastcoast list. And in case you missed us, that would be official name for our grand tour of the east coast. Today, we say goodbye to the Big Apple and head north to Beantown. How have we been spending our time so far? Eating and drinking, of course! Last night, the wino spent happy hour at Gallow Green in Chelsea and dinner at Toro, while the romantic took a stroll through Central Park and met friends uptown for dinner at Busters NYC (now closed). While we’ve spent the majority of…

#LTeastcoast: philadelphia, new york city, & boston
Surrrrprise! After four months apart, we’re back! The romantic and the wino are reunited! Ready to cause havoc in the good ole U-S-of-A! Just in time for #LTeastcoast! We must admit: we’re feeling super patriotic. So what better way to celebrate July 4th than with a seven-day tour of the historic east coast? As you may have guessed, we’re hitting up some of our old favorites. But don’t despair, wanderlusters! We’ve added a brand new city into the mix as well. Check out our itinerary here, and be sure to follow along on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter as we make our way…

SURPRISE! // a very #LTeastcoast besties travel reunion
Oh, hello there, old friends. We’ve been coy, it’s true. #LTcoast2coast wrapped last week, and yes, we appreciated our sybmolic travel reunion. We each loved our (separate) times along the Atlantic’s separate coasts! But more exciting news is in store… WE’RE WRITING THIS FROM THE SAME ROOM! IT’S A REAL BESTIES TRAVEL REUNION! Ahem, sorry for the yelling font. But yes oh yes, it’s true. Today, after four whole months, we reunited in the City of Brotherly Love, in adjoining rooms at The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia. WHICH we booked via Roomkey, but more on all this later. Patience, our dear little…

First thing’s first, here. Before I dive into our Galway recap, Imma drop a knowledge bomb on you (or possibly not. It is very possible that this is one of those things everyone knows except me, but just go with it). DID YOU KNOW… The people of Galway are called Galwegians??? Yeah, the hubs made this joke, like… 6 times before we got to Galway. Each time, he said it in a “if the plural for goose is geese, why aren’t many moose called meese?!” sort of fashion. “If people from Norway are Norwegian, I bet the people of Galway…

foodie break: eating like a local around the globe
We admit it: we’re travel obsessed. Sometimes, physically traveling isn’t even enough to satisfy our never-ending wanderlust. In between trips, we spend a fair amount of time online reading about other people’s travel experiences. During one such recent reading sesh, we found this article from Laura Bloom at Yahoo Travel about eating like a local in Costa Rica. It really resonated with us! From city to city, one thing that stays constant throughout all of our travels? A desire to experience the local culture through its food and drink. Yes, we normally steer clear of guided tours. But in unfamiliar…
