the emotional stages of going on a short trip, as told in GIFs
The saddest, most emotional news: #LTfrancais has come and gone. It wasn’t our shortest international reunion (that prize goes to our twenty-four-hour rendezvous in London back in 2008), but the three days we spent together in France certainly wasn’t long enough. In 72 hours, we bounced around Paris, visited FOUR chateaux, drank approximately 15 bottles of wine, AND the wino even got engaged! BEST. TRIP. EVER. And now… now we’re back to our normal everyday routines, and truth be told, it’s making us just plain miserable. Ohhh the rollercoaster of emotions felt in only a few days time. How’s a…

jetsetters: @TheGoFever
Welllll, hello travel lovers. Happy jetsetter day! Allow us to introduce Catherine, whose one sentence bio sounds eerily similar to two people you may know: a girl in her late twenties trying to balance a full time job with the need to travel as far and as often as possible. Stop by her new site, The Go Fever, to say hello and learn more about her adventures– old and new. Favorite meal: Without any doubt, Xiao Long Bao at Din Tai Fung in Taipei. I would eat there all day every day. And I am not joking! Simply put, it was…

style spotter: winter night in paris
OH MON DIEU it’s almost here! Tomorrow night, I’ll be crossing the Atlantic to reunite with my favorite redhead in my favorite city. Ohhh #LTfrancais, you couldn’t get here fast enough. Naturally, I haven’t started packing (who does that in advance, anyway?), but I have spent a lot of this pre-holiday Wednesday at work perusing Polyvore for things I wish I could bring with me. Some of the top items on my list: a warm winter jacket that’s still cute enough to gain Parisian approval, flat shoes for all the cobblestone walking, and, most importantly, a bag large enough for…

jetsetters: @BespokeTravels
OH HEY. It’s time for another installment of our weekly Jetsetters series — which, if you haven’t noticed, has gotten a new and improved format. You can save the compliments for later. Instead, take a few minutes to say hello to this week’s jetsetters. Meet two of our longtime favorite travel writers, Jesse and Atreyee, from Bespoke Traveler. Regulars in our No Travel Required series, we’ve found that we can’t get enough of Jesse and Atreyee’s photos and stories from around the world. Plus, they also hold a soft spot in their hearts for Paris, which pretty much makes them…

halló, reykjavik: our intro to iceland
Pre-Iceland, I had one stupid concern. I was irrationally worried that, based purely on the adjectives I’d heard to describe each country, Iceland would be like New Zealand light. Other-worldly, majestic, inspiring… New Zealand certainly fit the bill, so how would our intro to Iceland live up to that? Yeah, dumbest fear ever. Yes, there were a lot of similarities—green, rolling hills, sheep randomly crossing the roads, beautifully colored bodies of water that don’t even look real. But culturally? Totally, totally different. I mean, obviously. And I didn’t think it was possible, but if I really, truly had to pick…
