o-m-g: another travel announcement!
We realized today that we’re only three weeks out (!!!) from our Lazy Travelers’ Switzerland takeover. Minds blown. Thanks to our extreme sense of wanderlust–and the fact that this is our first real trip together in over three years–it’s safe to say that our brains are already in Switzerland. Though we’ve been bombarding you regularly with announcements, we have yet another. We can’t promise it will be our last, but we CAN promise you it’s very exciting… As you know, our original December getaway consisted of four nights and five days bopping around the Lake Geneva region of Switzerland. When…

jetsetters: @luxury__travel
Oh em gee, if feels so good to have another jetsetter. You can’t bring us down, Sandy! SO, meet Dr. Paul Johnson (seriously, he’s like a glacier doctor), jetsetter and luxury travel blogger extraordinaire. He has, perhaps, the most enviable travel resume we’ve ever seen (ex. camping in the French countryside, scholarships to explore the ancient Roman remains, and playing soccer in the Serengeti with a herd of lions looking on). He’s real fancy. And we like. You can find more of his luxurious travel tales on his own site, A Luxury Travel Blog, and don’t forget to follow him on…

autumn getaway: a washington, dc weekend
Because the wino and the hubs both spent their undergrad years in DC, I’m no stranger to the Washington, DC weekend. I also managed to spend one sweltering summer spent interning on K Street. Though I don’t know the ins and outs of the city like they do (I blame the concentric circles), I do have a few must-sees up my sleeve. Previously, it was my favorite place to visit in the springtime. Who can beat cherry blossom season? Then, the hubs and I had the chance to go down for his alumni weekend. I realized that a DC weekend…

hear hear! we’re back from hiatus!
What a coincidence (or not) that our first post in days falls on a #winewednesday! Surely we’ve earned many, many, many glasses over the last week. Thanks to hurricanes and work events and nor’easters, our brains are still in a daze, and thus, can not properly articulate what has been going on in the Lazy Travelers’ universe in the past week. Let’s try to review: Sandy effed up our city. Like, seriously. Though the Upper East Side turned out to be a damage-free bubble, both of our offices and many of our friends were without power and heat for all…

pura vida: two nights in tamarindo, costa rica
After the absurdity, frustration, and sadness caused by this week’s Sandy encounter, I thought it might be time to brighten things up a bit. With so many photos of the devastation along our coastline, it’s hard to remember that I usually find water to be so calming. But back in August, our two nights in Tamarindo was exactly that. After a much smaller weather-related mishap during our trip to Costa Rica, we ended up in Tamarindo. Despite everything, it was quickly apparent that this was exactly how we wanted to close out our ten-day tour of Costa Rica. The hubs strolling…
