#LTeuropa bucket list takedown: one high-speed catamaran, please

    August 18, 2013 /

When we we first planning our LTeuropa itinerary, we assumed we’d be taking trains to get us from city to city. That is, until we heard about the Twin City Liner, a high-speed catamaran that runs between Bratislava and Vienna. Never ones to shy away from advice from a local–or a photo-op (like, how good would we probably look on the deck of a ship, hair flowing in the breeze??)–we quickly added a high-speed catamaran ride to our official bucket list. For only 20euro, the catamaran was a less pricey alternative to the train travel we depended on for most…

taste hungary: eating our way through budapest

    August 7, 2013 /

After spending our first night in Budapest wining and dining at the Four Seasons Gresham Palace, we woke up ready to continue our culinary exploration of Hungary. Though we normally wander our way through a city rather than schedule a specific itinerary, we decided that with only forty eight hours in Budapest, we’d leave the planning up to the experts. We chose Taste Hungary as our guide, a food and wine company that focuses on true cultural experiences. Seeing as they have a recent post on their own blog about the best places to daydrink in Budapest, we thought we’d…

#LTeuropa bucket list takedown: the strudel

    August 4, 2013 /

Like most of our adventures, we didn’t really pre-plan our Eastern European reunion…at least not in the traditional sense. We knew where we were going to sleep and which cities we would hit, but, per usual, that’s where the plans ended. We weren’t too concerned with visiting Schonbrunn Palace or sitting through a classical concerto because, sorry, ZZZZZ. Instead, we focused on the important things: our bucket list. Naturally, one of the things that most concerned us was our commitment to… Learn to make strudel CHECK. On our first full day in Vienna, we made our way over to the…

I’ve never been more proud of my packing capabilities than the night before I left for #LTeuropa, having rolled up two week’s worth of carefully selected outfits, accessories, and toiletries into a small carry-on suitcase. Could it be that The Lazy Travelers are actually perfecting the art of packing lightly? Flash forward forty eight hours and the romantic and I were sprawled on the floor of our one hundred degree, un-air conditioned apartment, dreading the thought of putting on any of the outfits I had carefully chosen for our trip. I attempted to put on a ankle-length black maxi and…

5 reasons we know we’re meant to live in a palace

    July 24, 2013 /

Listen, all this talk of the Royal Baby has us in a tizzy. As you know, we’ve always felt a connection with the royal family, and to that fact, we’ve always secretly thought we might be royalty. It just seems incredibly likely that we were snatched from our palace at birth, and raised as commoners, never knowing our true identities. But sounds feasible, non? Even so, royalty or not, living in the lap of luxury has always come au naturale to us. And, after staying in the Four Seasons Gresham Palace Budapest, we’re 100% certain of one thing. We are…
