foodie break: the isle of wight’s three buoys
Despite the fact that we had already inhaled the Seaview’s famed crab ramekin, we ended our first day of Twixtmas pretty ravenous. Enter: the Isle of Wight’s Three Buoys. The pug was, again, fully welcomed, if not revered. I’m telling you, if you DON’T bring a dog to the Isle of Wight, they might not actually let you onto the island. Anyway! Dinner! It was, unsurprisingly, delish. You know how sometimes you can just look at a website and know a restaurant is gonna be good? Three Buoys has one of those websites. Owned by a born & bred local,…

wight twixtmas: winter on the isle of wight, part 1
Before moving to London, I had never heard the word “Twixtmas.” Apparently, it’s a British nickname for the days between Christmas & New Year’s, and it’s very popular, especially for Londoners, to figure out (/mildly stress over) where and how to wile these days away. Luckily for us, our plans fell into our laps, well before we even knew that Twixtmas was a thing! We were on the hunt for a pug-friendly destination somewhere in the UK. Then, lo and behold, an invitation to explore the Isle of Wight came through. We briefly researched the island’s level of dog friendliness.…

happy hen: the wino wedding season is here!
We started this blog a little over three years ago now, and there’s no question: our lives have changed dramatically during this time. We’ve changed cities, we’ve changed jobs, we’ve changed cities again. We’ve changed our hair, we’ve changed direction, we’ve gotten overwhelmed, and we’ve gotten back on track. The romantic abandoned ship and became an expat. The wino fell in love, got engaged, and gets married in 5 days. That’s right: the wino wedding season is HERE! That is crazytown, and in all the best ways. Luckily for us, the wino’s other half swooped in and fit right into…

#LTselects: gordon’s wine bar
With just over two weeks to go until the wino becomes mrs. the wino, we’ve been spending most of our time here at LT headquarters talking on gchat about what’s still on her to do list, everything she’ll eat on her honeymoon, and how much champagne we’re going to drink (TOGETHER! REUNITED!) in about 13 days and counting. This should come as no surprise. Wine & champagne is at the heart of every great celebration. When we were together in London in November, a trip to the city’s oldest wine bar, Gordon’s Wine Bar, was very obviously in order. Spoiler…

foodie break: festive afternoon tea at the conrad london st. james
With less than ten days until Christmas and the winners of our #LTholidays giveaway announced, it’s safe to say we’re fully immersed in the holiday spirit. As we’re living in new cities this year, we can’t wait to explore how each celebrates the season! Yes, the tried and true holiday attractions are near and dear to our hearts. People love Winter Wonderland in London’s Hyde Park! The Light Show in Philadelphia’s Wanamaker Building is a classic for a reason! But the crowd-hating, semi-claustrophobic versions of ourselves also appreciate a quieter celebration, away from all the hustle and bustle. Enter: Festive…
