rtw rookies: the recap, the revelation & the full itinerary
Our full itinerary from five months on the road. We started in NYC, moved west, and learned... we're not very good at being traditional long-term travelers. At all.

london, baby! (+ travel announcement!)
This summer, the hubs and I hit up London for our third time together, and agreed that each time we go… we kinda love the city more than the last. So, you can probably guess based on the title: I have a travel announcement or two to make! I’m definitely jinxing myself here. But we’ve never really had the traditionally terrible weather that London is so known for! And this last time? Well, the city was on a perfect weather HIGH. Because our last stint was so perfect, when I found out about WTM in November, I pretty much jumped at the…

peak season travel & how to ensure survival
If you’ve been around here for awhile, you know one thing is true: we don’t really travel during the peak season. Be it Amsterdam in October or Costa Rica in July, the hubs and I generally seek out better deals to help lighten our budget load. After hitting Belgium and The Netherlands last year, our stop in England was especially key (the hubs was not so great at Dutch). If you or your travel companion feel similarly and want to brush up on your English-speaking skills, Kaplan has a few schools that…

beer pressure
I’d like to take a moment and pat myself on the back: I’ve come a long way from my Smirnoff Ice-drinking ways of freshman year of college (oooh doesn’t that just make you want to gag?). Though this may be hard to believe, when we planned our October getaway, hubs and I didn’t set out to have such a beer-centric European itinerary. It just happened, we swear it. When we arrived in Amsterdam, we had no choice but to visit the World of Heineken: From there, things spiraled quickly out of control. Seriously, check out what happened in Bruges: After…
