london: hits & hmms (part two!)

    November 28, 2011 /

So where were we? Everything in London was perfect and lovely and everything I ever wanted? Bingo. (Ok but like also, if anyone would like to hire me for pretty much anything, I will do it if it involves moving to London. Just putting that out there). In other news, this post morphed into more of a photo essay of the second half of our trip, and I’m ok with that. I think they’ll explain my favorites from the last few days more than I can verbalize. So! Without further ado: Premium Tours: Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and Bath We originally…

hits & hmms // the highs & lows of london (part one!)

    November 25, 2011 /

Because our 10-day itinerary stemmed from wanting to spend time in London, we were overly excited to have almost four full days. London was the perfect finale to our trip, and we’re already aching to get back and see even more of the city. Much like New York and Paris, there’s a reason people count it as one of the greatest cities in the world. Naturally, that also means there’s more to see than you can ever fit in one (or two or three) trips. Luckily, I loved London so much that I don’t even have any misses. So instead,…

    four days in london

    November 21, 2011 /

I’m not going to say that hubs and I were in a rush to leave Brussels, but I will say that we tried to move our train up to Wednesday and contemplated the £200 fee (I contemplated it, hubs automatically said no. I then contemplated leaving hubs in Brussels). But we stuck it out, and Thursday morning we woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, and made our way to London via Eurostar. Day 1 – THURSDAY Morning & Afternoon – After our lovely ride through the Belgian and French countrysides, we arrived at St. Pancras Station. This was exactly…

    aaaand she’s back!

    October 17, 2011 /

Happy Monday! SOOO… little bit of a shock back into reality, and I’m not loving it. Between all the real-job procrastinating the wino did last week to maintain the blog, and my own absence from real life, today was the worst. Sorry for our lack of posting/tweeting/general ability to entertain you, but lots of posts and pictures to come, I swear it. Our trip was amazing and I can’t wait to share! Since we also were slacking on No Travel Required today, I’ll at least supply you with a photo of the day. A Hipstamatic photo of the day from…

Riots in Tottenham? Vigilante activity and mass anarchy? Fires burning, stores looted, police brutality? How can it be- that’s not the London I know! The London I know lines the streets for miles to watch their beloved Prince marry his Princess.  The London I know sips tea and eats crumpets. It’s Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke singing sugary sweet songs and dancing with penguins! It’s double decker buses and red telephone booths and Charles Dickens and Kate Moss! Did you steer me wrong, Hugh Grant; isn’t love actually…all around? I’ve been lucky enough to visit London three times in…
