weekend warriors // autumn in iceland, part two

    December 10, 2015 /

Dark and early on our third morning in Iceland, the hubs and I awoke in our room at the Ion Luxury Adventure Hotel. After breakfast, we grabbed our bags, and hopped back in the car. We had done a quick survey of South Iceland, and now! It was time to meet my sister & her boyfriend at their post-flight visit to the Blue Lagoon. It was time to make our way west, and our little weekend experiencing autumn in Iceland continued on. By the time we reached Reykjavik, the sky had lightened considerably. Because it was October and the days…

style spotter: a travel-themed nursery with pottery barn kids

    December 4, 2015 /

Mini life update! About a month ago, almost to the day, the hubs and I found ourselves in a situation that I officially wish on no other pregnant woman. We realized, with about 10 weeks to go before my expected due date, that we had to move. Among all my nesting dreams, it felt like my plans for a travel-themed nursery corner, quite suddenly, postponed. I won’t bore you with the details. But things moved fast, and we were fortunate to find an amazing new apartment absurdly quickly. Like, it was the vert first one we saw, on our very…

autumn in iceland // part one

    November 24, 2015 /

When we were planning our quick hop from London to Reykajvik to meet up with my sister & her boyfriend, the hubs and I knew a mini roadtrip was in order. Our itinerary was going to be a little wonky because they were flying into Reykjavik a day after us. This meant we couldn’t stray too far from the capital. Naturally, Inga from Tiny Iceland came to my rescue and suggested for our first time experiencing autumn in Iceland, we explore the south side. After our morning in Reykjavik, we headed back to our hotel to meet a rep from…

    foodie break: philadelphia BYOBs

    November 23, 2015 /

One of the best parts of being back in Philadelphia is the abundance of quality bring-your-own-bottle restaurants. It was only after moving away from the area years ago that I learned Philadelphia BYOBs are truly something special. I honestly had no idea that these really aren’t commonplace in other parts of the country. But what’s not to love about going out to eat and being able to bring along your own reasonably priced (ok, sometimes cheap) bottle(s) of wine?! As two people who love to go out, though can’t always afford to as much as we like, Sean and I…
