the lazy girl’s guide to choosing the perfect villa

    September 5, 2016 /

We must admit — we feel like we’re cheating on Portugal a bit. We’re barely back from our last lazy adventure, and we’re already dreaming about our next destination. That’s right, our girls’ week in Mykonos with MyGreek-Villa is officially less than two months away! And what better way to celebrate than with a little guide to choosing the perfect villa? We’ll keep our promise to fill you in on what we got up to during our most recent Euro jaunt! But first, we wanted to address an important dilemma we often face when planning a vacation. How the eff…

the beginner’s guide to the southern finger lakes

    August 29, 2016 /

With the Douro Valley fresh in my mind after #LTportugal, I’m feeling super nostalgic for our time spent in other beautiful wine regions around the world. Most recently: the southern Finger Lakes. If you can remember, I surprised Sean with a three-day birthday trip to the southern Finger Lakes in April. We spent the first day blissfully exploring Corning, NY (aka eating and drinking our way through the charming little historic town), and on the second day, we drove a half-hour north to Hammondsport and Keuka Lake. The Y-shaped Keuka Lake is smack dab in the middle of the Finger…

happy blogaversary // five years of the lazy travelers

    August 5, 2016 /

Last week, a little notification popped up on our WordPress dashboard. That’s right. Happy blogaversary to us! Wait, what? Happy Anniversary with WordPress.com! You registered on WordPress.com 5 years ago. On a July night in 2011, after two (or three?) bottles of wine, we started our blog. It happened after a failed attempt to convince the hubs to help us start a Dublin-based pizza shop. Instead, we registered a domain with WordPress. The next day, in between work at our day jobs, we got to writing. If our blog was a baby, it’d be starting kindergarten. It’s longer than we’ve…

the colors of lyme regis, dorset // a photo essay

    July 28, 2016 /

This past weekend, feeling a bit stifled from the recent London heatwave, we made a last-minute decision and hightailed it for the coast. We booked ourselves into a little cottage in a village called Piddletrenthide, situated just outside of Dorchester. A few days later, we made our way down to Lyme Regis, Dorset. Naturally, that’s really romanticizing the cottage experience. That part ended up being kind of a letdown. It was also really a lesson in why last-minute trips here can be tough. Everything was booked! We made the most of it, though. For our last night, we relocated to…

style spotter // summer beauty must-haves

    June 30, 2016 /

When it comes to summer beauty, we agree on one key factor: less is more. Who wants to feel like their make-up is caked on? Especially when you also have to throw sunscreen and sweat into the mix! Pas nous. Even so… we’re not insane — erm, brave enough to go totally bare. With this in mind, here’s what we’re loving right now. purpletale’s 5 Steps to Lovely Skin Complete Facial Solution // Apparently, a suuuuper fun side effect of aging is that your skin wakes up one day and is all, “You think imma elasticize myself, bitch?” and you’re…
