    #LTselects: la clé des montagnes

    June 10, 2015 /

We’ve found our South African spirit animal, and it goes by the name of La Clé des Montagnes. The latest induction to our #LTselects series, this boutique hotel in South African wine country was most certainly love at first sight. Our first day of sightseeing in the Western Cape came to end in the town of Franschhoek, where our Hands Up Holidays guide, Janise, dropped us off at our accommodations for the evening: La Clé des Montagnes, a small collection of villas situated on a private estate. So, how much do we love La Clé des Montagnes? Let us count…

the lazy girls’ guide to exploring south africa’s western cape: part 1

    June 9, 2015 /

We hate to make excuses, but we’re so happy to say we’re here to finally start writing about our time in South Africa. But before we dive into our time exploring South Africa’s Western Cape, we want to offer a little apology. We’re sincerely sorry for the delay! If you’re curious why we’ve taken so long to start writing about our #LTsouthafrica trip, we do have two very legitimate reasons: 1. Our lives have been a bit topsy turvy the past few weeks… read: very, very busy. 2. More importantly, every time we think back on our week in South…

sneak peek: one week in south africa

    March 30, 2015 /

You know, we were overly ambitious in our plans to keep the blog updated while away. During our one week in South Africa, we very clearly failed. But, if you’ve been following along on social media (namely here, here, and here), we think you’ll give us a pass. Starting last Friday, we gave South Africa all we got… and we fell in love. We will obviously be reporting back on every detail very soon, but while we regroup, collect our thoughts, and start sorting through our thousands of photos and videos, we wanted to leave you with some snaps from…

    #LTsouthafrica: we’re going to africa & you’re invited!

    February 23, 2015 /

If you’ve been reading LT from its earliest days, then you may already know this. Going to Africa, and specifically South Africa, has been at the top of our list for-basically-ever. To be perfectly honest, though? Actually booking a trip felt overwhelming. How do you know that you’re doing such an expansive, incredible continent and country justice?! Finally, we pushed our laziness aside. Sort of. In just under four weeks, along with our friend Mrs. O, we’ll be jetting off to Cape Town. We’ve partnered with Hands Up Holidays, who arranges luxury voluntourism in regions all over the world. That’s…
