one bucket list item for 2014
A note from The Lazy Travelers: On the last day of 2013, it seems fitting to reflect on everything that’s happened this year—and there’s no shortage of things for us to reflect on. Though we’re normally light-hearted (and maybe even a little drunk) a good majority of the time, we wanted to spend a few moments to reflect on something that touched us both this year: the loss of our friend, Anita. A few of our dear friends and fellow bloggers joined together for a small tribute, which we’ve all agreed to share on our respective sites with the hope…

style spotter: english puddlejumping
My recent plan for London in November means that I’ve been consciously seeking out all things Union Jack, just to stare at and love. I’m wistfully envisioning a week full of English puddlejumping and afternoon teas and Sunday roasts. Very lucky for me, during my quick trip, I’ll be joining Mrs. O at her perfect little cottage in Henley-on-Thames, but I’m just not sure it’ll be enough. I’m daydreaming of rolling hills, wandering sheep, and pints galore. We’re talking peeping leaves and hopping puddles from Guernsey to Brighton and back again. Shop the look here! european breakfasts: a love letter
Though it’s only been a few months since our #LTeuropa adventure, I’m already itching to make my return to Europe. MOSTLY to see the romantic and satiate my never-ending wanderlust, but also because I kind of miss European breakfasts. …And by kind of, I mean fiercely. I know, I know! I’m a New Yorker– home of the best bagels in all the land! Bagels will always have a special place in my heart (and belly), but I can’t kick my obsession with European breakfasts. And who could blame me? The coffee. I’ve always been a coffee drinker, but I became…

This weekend, we had the pleasure of welcoming our fellow travel lovers to our beloved city for the 10th Annual New York Times Travel Show. As first-timers, we were nervous. We carry a general fear of large crowds and salespeople, and we had no idea what to expect from the three-day show. Luckily for you, just like the romantic’s adventure in TBEX-land, we’re here to share our newfound wisdom. Without further ado, some tips for anyone thinking of taking the leap and signing up for next year’s show. Hello, Javits Center. You are practically in New Jersey. The Do’s DO purchase…

2013 travel planning: let’s do this
Over the past week, we’ve asked our Twitter followers to help with our future travel planning, and submit their best bets on where we’re headed in 2013 using the hashtag #LTGoes. From Iceland to Miami, Vancouver to Paris, we’ve had some pretty good travel inspiration thrown our way. Unfortunately, we had already made our decision. As expected, we returned from Switzerland and Ireland and needed something PRONTO to quiet the little voices in our heads! Not the normal ones, the new ones asking us, “what’s next what’s next what’s next?!?!?” Unsurprisingly, we brainstormed possible itineraries for weeks… and maybe let…
