the abc’s of travel: the romantic
Happy 2012, travelers! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend saying hello to the new year and au revoir to 2011. But ski injury be damned, because I still have high hopes for you, ’12. Plus, the good news? We were pretty excited to be tagged last week by GQ Trippin’ to share our ABCs of travel! I’m up first, and the wino will be sharing her own later this week. She’ll also have our tags for who’s next, so if you want to be tagged, let us know! A. Age you went on your first international trip: 13! My dad…

50 places to see once in your life
To add to our travel-themed gifts this Christmas, Santa-in-law had a little something up his (/her) sleeve. Hidden in hubs’s stocking was this: As soon as he opened it up, we started looking through the little cards–and though I thought we’d have an impressive amount ticked off our little travel bucket list, I was surprised to see that we came in well under ten! Here’s what we did have… Check! Check!: Check! (But don’t tell the pope about this picture I snuck, deal? You can tell Jesus, I feel like he probably won’t be too worked up about it): Le…

When it comes to hotel living, the logical, sensible side of me has pretty minimal requirements. Hotels must be clean, centrally located, and come complete with a friendly, helpful staff. we get by with a little help from our friends
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again – it doesn’t hurt to have friends in the right places. I’m not ashamed to say that I take full advantage of my boyfriend’s beach house, my best friend’s cabin on the lake, and if a friend moves away, I make it my mission to make a vacation out of visiting them. Case in point – this weekend, I’m traveling to the beautiful seaside town of Cape May, NJ where my college roommate has a vacation home. I’ve got friends in high places, and because of this, I’ve traveled the globe.…

euro adventure // a 10 day trip to amsterdam, bruges, brussels, & london
The hubs & I are just nine days away from our trip to Amsterdam, Bruges, Brussels, and London! Flights are booked, hotel rooms are reserved, and train tickets from Brussels to London are secured. So, since I’m sure you’re wondering “how DOES she do it?!!?” I’m going to tell you. Even if you’re not wondering that. Which I realize, you’re probably not wondering that at all. But, hear me out because we really do have a method to our lazy madness. Since we’ll be there for 10 travel days, we really don’t like to leave EVERYTHING to chance. We always…
