expat life // an american pregnancy in london
While I’ve shared plenty about my travel experiences while pregnant, I haven’t written too much about my actual pregnancy. Mainly because, well, this is a travel blog, and pregnancy isn’t particularly travel-related. My experiences with pregnancy in London, however, has been greatly influenced by my life as an American expat. Pregnancy, especially for first-timers, is already a learning experience. Doing it in a new country — with different resources and without the same support network you’d have at home — adds a whole new layer of “WTF am I DOING?” SO, with fellow Americans in mind, I thought maybe a…

the lazy baby has arrived!
That’s right, five months after our announcement post, our little lazy baby has arrived! This weekend, one week before my official due date, Jeff and I walked out of our flat. We slowly walked to the hospital, not quite believing that my water had broken and this was happening. 16 hours later, at 2:02 PM GMT, we welcomed a 7 lbs. 7 oz. Margot Louise to the world. style spotter: a travel-themed nursery with pottery barn kids
Mini life update! About a month ago, almost to the day, the hubs and I found ourselves in a situation that I officially wish on no other pregnant woman. We realized, with about 10 weeks to go before my expected due date, that we had to move. But things moved fast, and we were fortunate to find an amazing new apartment absurdly quickly. Like, it was the vert first one we saw, on our very…

a day at the spa // so SPA at the sofitel london st. james
In these last 25 weeks, I’ve learned that the daily aches and pains of pregnancy are no joke. They might not be constant, and they might not start right away. But at some point during your nine months, you will experience leg cramps. Or foot cramps. Or hip pain that makes you want to curl up in a ball and sleep until the baby shows up. I’ve tried everything, but nothing has been nearly as indulgent or relaxing as my prenatal massage at So SPA at the Sofitel London St. James. Lucky for me, my hip pain arrived extra early.…

a little announcement…
Hey, hi, hello! SO… we’ve been keeping a secret around LT HQ, and now I have a little announcement to make. And I mean little in the most literal sense of the word. Like, this secret started as a speck! A tiny poppy seed! But, now that we’re just under 6 months away from the expected beginning of our next adventure, I thought it was about time to loop you in. Any guesses? OUI! As of today, I am officially 17 weeks (+/- a few days) pregnant! Lazy baby is on board! We’ve been slowly sharing the news with our…
