what now? // reflections on the american presidential election

    November 10, 2016 /

The past 48 hours have taken a toll on us. On all of us. The American presidential election is over. Like so many, we waited for November 8, 2016 for a long time. After proudly casting our Pennsylvania state ballots, we watched the results come in on Tuesday night from our respective couches, across an ocean and across timezones, 3,500 miles apart. We were confident that the American people would elect the most qualified candidate; the person who had spent years fighting for women and children, supporting our beloved New York City during a time of tragedy and heartbreak, traveling…

travel announcement! one week in northern portugal

    August 2, 2016 /

Last August, as we floated around the pool at our villa in Spain, cocktails and mocktails in hand and bellies full of manchego, we vowed that a week-long Lazy Travelers’ summer vacation most definitely had to become an annual tradition. Fast forward ten months, and we decided: a do-over was necessary, and this time with one week in Northern Portugal. So many of our travels are hectically scheduled between other commitments or jammed into weekends. It felt absolutely luxurious to vacation in one place for an entire week. Now, a year later, it’s time to make good on our promise…

travel announcement // grecian girls’ getaway with @MyGreekVilla

    May 18, 2016 /

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again: 2015 was big, big year. We didn’t think it could ever be topped, and that’s still to be seen. Now, with an upcoming Grecian girls’ getaway, we’re trying to get close. But back to 2015 for just a moment. From Napa to Cape Town to the French Alps, we had more Lazy Travelers’ getaways than we’ve ever had before. As two best friends who live an ocean apart, it’s important to us to plan as much time together as we can. And letsbehonest… it never hurts if it’s somewhere new and…

travel announcement: going back back to cali cali

    February 16, 2016 /

If you haven’t heard, we’ve been experiencing arctic temps in Philly this past weekend. With snow falling outside my window as I type, I can’t think of a better time for this travel announcement. That’s right, I’m making a return trip to a place I’ve recently fallen in love with. Yes, correct, I’m going back back to Cali Cali… Los Angeles and Orange County, CA, here I come! Here’s the catch: it’s a work trip. This means the majority (read: almost all) will be scheduled with work events. However, that doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy the sunny, warm weather and…

travel announcement (part two)! one week in switzerland for the wino

    November 10, 2015 /

It’s been a really big year for me. I mean, really big. So it’s natural that I’m capping it all off with something else really big. One week in Switzerland, in all its Christmassy glory. In January, I married my handsome fiance. I had a year of travel firsts, from my trips to southern and northern California to our epic and life-changing #LTsouthafrica adventure. I spent time in London, re-discovered Spain, and spent many weekends toasting to dear friends at weddings, housewarmings, baby showers, and thirtieth birthday celebrations. Honestly, I could happily hang my hat after 2015, but unbelievably, it’s…
