driving the ring road: the great icelandic roadtrip

    December 9, 2013 /

Once we started our RTW, we realized something. We had a roadtrip planned for almost every country! From Hawaii, to New Zealand, to Australia, to random countries across Europe, we repeatedly rented cars and drove off to new destinations. It felt natural to cap our adventure with the ultimate: one great Icelandic roadtrip around the country’s famous Ring Road. the great icelandic roadtrip The kick-off to the very last week of our five-month RTW was off to a stellar start. Our epic roadtrip began with two very fulfilling days of rotten shark-eating and black death-imbibing in Reykjavik. Although we loved…

Totally, totally different. I mean, obviously. And I didn’t think it was possible, but if I really, truly had to pick…

love on the aegean: falling for montenegro

    November 11, 2013 /

Post-Belgrade, we hopped on a bus and booked it for Montenegro. Even though this was a late edition to the itins, it’s long been on our list of places to explore and I am happy to report: it did not disappoint. When people ask about our trip, questions always include, “which stop was your favorite??” Even though it’s unlikely I’ll ever commit to one answer, Montenegro is a serious contender. Warning: seriously photo-heavy post ahead.  Budva Our first stop was Budva, and though we had heard mixed reviews, we had a blast. It was definitely more touristy than our second…
