travel flashback: a parisian photo essay
One year ago today, the hubs and I were on our way back from one of the best travel weekends we’ve had to date: a snowy weekend in Paris. As per usual, I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for a weekend of red wine and snowy cobblestoned streets, but while the wino and I prep for a few more big travel announcements in the coming weeks, I thought I’d give you a mindless break via Parisian photo essay to, you know. Just look at some pretty pictures from our trip. Also, full disclosure: by “you,” I definitely mean myself. New York…

the real history of shakespeare & company
While in Paris, the hubs and I made a necessary stop at Shakespeare & Co. Having skipped it the first time (I know), there was no way we were making the same mistake again. Between my new found love for Midnight In Paris and summer obsessions with The Paris Wife (seriously, READ IT) and A Moveable Feast, this was a must-see. As luck would have it, we arrived at the same time as a true-blue historian. This guy was the real deal. See the baby just entering the photo to the left? That’s baby #1 strapped to the Official Hemingway…

la tour eiffel: a love story in photos
TGIF! As per usual, my brain is not functioning due to my impending weekend getaway to visit the WINO! Wine & beer & cheese, oh my. So, instead of trying to write up a witty post, I’m opting for a photo-heavy post of some of my favorite Eiffel Tower photos from my recent trip to Paris avec le hubs. Et Voilà! xo, the romantic

the paris catacombs: things to know
On our first trip to France, I desperately wanted to see the Paris catacombs. It didn’t work out due to construction, and I was disappointed. So, when the hubs gave me my Parisian itinerary, he dedicated an entire page to visiting the site (ahhh, romance). I hate scary movies, cannot handle haunted houses, and really only like Halloween for the excuse to dress up like something ridiculous and eat a lot of candy. But something about the catacombs intrigued me. To preface: on a whim, we bumped our visit up a day, and were thus thoroughly unprepared. We were by…

adventures in wine tasting: ô chateau, paris
While in the midst of not planning our Parisian weekend, I came across this post about Ô Chateau and immediately sent it along to the hubs. As expected, he replied with a reservation confirmation and a “WOO HOOOOO!” Like the wino, the hubs and I have had our share of boozy adventures, and we’ve slowly been able to expand our list of wine/beer likes and dislikes, as well as add a few techniques into the mix. For one, hubs is a huge fan of “letting wine breath.” This is unfortunate for me, because I’m a huge fan of asking for another pour. Ô Chateau was…
