    foodie break: philadelphia BYOBs

    November 23, 2015 /

One of the best parts of being back in Philadelphia is the abundance of quality bring-your-own-bottle restaurants. It was only after moving away from the area years ago that I learned Philadelphia BYOBs are truly something special. I honestly had no idea that these really aren’t commonplace in other parts of the country. But what’s not to love about going out to eat and being able to bring along your own reasonably priced (ok, sometimes cheap) bottle(s) of wine?! As two people who love to go out, though can’t always afford to as much as we like, Sean and I…

a mini reunion & a failed ode to brunch

    May 21, 2015 /

If you’re reading the title of this post and feeling like an ode to brunch has probably already happened around here, the answer is: it’s highly probable. If there’s one thing we love, it’s brunch. Pair this with the fact that we were briefly together in Philadelphia this weekend, and you basically have the recipe for the most perfect Sunday Funday! Oh right, so, small confession: we’ve kinda been holding out on you. Last weekend, we were blissfully reunited in Philadelphia… for about five minutes. We meant to loop you in a bit more, and if you were paying close…

the ultimate beer hunt // the philadelphia craft beer scene

    October 29, 2014 /

After a short stint in the rural suburbs of Bucks County, I can happily announce: my fiancé and I have moved into our new Philadelphia apartment! Now that we’re (somewhat) settled, it’s our mission to fully explore our new city. And where did we start? With the Philadelphia craft beer scene, of course! It took us a few more months than we initially planned. But we’ve made the transition from bagel-loving, bodega-shopping, subway-riding New Yorkers to cheesesteak-devouring, soft-pretzel eating, Santa-booing (jklol) Philadelphians. All we need now is our go-to list of bars for post-work happy hours and weekend benders, and we’ll…

the perfect date night: philadelphia edition

    August 13, 2014 /

In years past, date night was more in the romantic’s wheelhouse than my own. Now, since I’m an engaged lady with a fiancé who enjoys wining and dining as much as I do, I take full advantage of these opportunities. Most recently, we had our very own date night: Philadelphia edition. Last week, we celebrated our two year anniversary (!!), meaning date night had to be above and beyond. And so, we made the drive from Bucks County to Philadelphia, where we’d spend the night drinking celebrating and discovering new favorites. Where we stayed The Dwight D, S. 256 16th…

city dwellers // philadelphia’s center city

    July 30, 2014 /

We may have grown up outside of Philadelphia, but that doesn’t make us experts on the City of Brotherly Love. Enter: the perfect excuse to spend some time together in Philadelphia’s Center City. When we kicked off our weeklong tour of the patriotic east coast, we knew we wanted to spend some time re-exploring Philly, especially now that the wino will soon be calling it home. Like any city, Philadelphia is chock-full of fun neighborhoods, each with it’s own distinct vibe. Because we only had two short days, we chose to stick to Center City. This was mostly for convenience,…
