weekend warriors // 48 hours in copenhagen
In an effort to move forward around here, we’re carrying on with our content as planned for the rest of the year. It feels a little weird, to be honest, but, you know. Here we are. If you missed our post-election reflections, you can find them here. In the meantime, it’s back to our travel tales, little lazies! —– This is going to sound so dumb, but as we neared the end of the summer, I realized something. Based on our projected travel plans for the rest of 2016, I was scheduled to visit ZERO new countries! What the what?!…

the colors of lyme regis, dorset // a photo essay
This past weekend, feeling a bit stifled from the recent London heatwave, we made a last-minute decision and hightailed it for the coast. We booked ourselves into a little cottage in a village called Piddletrenthide, situated just outside of Dorchester. A few days later, we made our way down to Lyme Regis, Dorset. Naturally, that’s really romanticizing the cottage experience. That part ended up being kind of a letdown. It was also really a lesson in why last-minute trips here can be tough. the [extremely] lazy girl’s guide to 48 hrs in DC
It’s hard to believe that over a year has gone by since Sean and I got married over pizza and wine on a cold January afternoon. So much has happened over the last year, and yet, it still seems like yesterday. But something that actually was far more recent? A little escape via 48 hrs in DC. Our first year of marriage has been filled with more good times than we could have ever hoped for. As our first anniversary got closer and closer, we knew we wanted to take some time away. Even if only a few days, we…

weekend warriors #LTfriendsgiving // thanksgiving in val-d’isère, part 2
Oh, you thought we were finished professing our love for our Thanksgiving in Val-d’Isère? You were wrong. So very, very wrong. If you read the first post detailing our #LTfriendsgiving weekend in this snowy alpine town, you’ll know we spent the majority of our time eating and drinking with our feet up by the fire. Yes, we could have happily camped out in our chalet for the entire weekend. But Saturday morning marked the official opening of Val-d’Isère’s ski season! As long-time (but admittedly infrequent) skiers, Carolyn and Jeff were itching to hit the slopes. And although he had never…

weekend warriors // exploring the british countryside
With the romantic planting her feet firmly in London, it’s safe to say that many British reunions are in our future. But while we adore the capital city, we’ve been thinking lately that our next rendezvous should involve some branching out. We’re more than a little ready to head off on a roadtrip, exploring the British countryside. Unfortunately, we don’t have any concrete plans at the moment. But there is plenty of inspiration to be found throughout this fine island! There are so many places that make us dream of rubber boots and Harris tweed and jodhpurs and mixing plaids.…
