weekend warriors // rocky mountain highs & lows
When the hubs and I booked our Rocky Mountain weekend getaway in Keystone for TBEX, we decided that there were some must-sees outside of the conference. Ok, fine, there were also maybe a possible safety net if the conference ended up being très awkward. Neither of us have spent much time in Colorado, so we had a few things on our weekend checklist: Red Rocks Park // I don’t remember much from my first family visit to Colorado, but I remember the Red Rocks Amphitheater very clearly. Unfortunately, we didn’t check the website to see what the day’s schedule was like (typical).…

tales from a tbex first timer
Since we landed on Sunday night, I’ve been contemplating how best to recap this past weekend at TBEX and for the past day or so, I was coming up blank. If you attended in person or followed the hashtag on twitter, I think you probably got a pretty good sense of how happy everyone was, and if you didn’t… then you’re probably not into a full second by second recap of what went down, right? What I can say is this: it was so, so, SO much different than I expected, and in all the best ways. First thing’s first–Colorado, you’re…

weekend warriors // t-g-i-my-f & t-b-e-x!
As per usual, this week got away from me and all of a sudden it’s Thursday, which is really my Friday. That’s right! Tomorrow morning, the hubs and I, little weekend warriors that we are, wake up bright and early. After multiple alarm clocks set for the crack of dawn, we depart for Keystone, Colorado! While I’m most excited for TBEX (le duh), the hubs and I are landing at 9 AM tomorrow with just enough time to turn our morning into a mini-road trip from the Denver airport to Keystone. Unfortunately for everyone, we aren’t arriving in time for…

a weekend in the country
As expected, a weekend escape to the country was everything I needed after a hectic week. First rule of thumb for mini getaways? All the best mini-road trips start with the scenic route: I’m a sucker for a bridge with a view, and every time we drive over the Tappan Zee, I have a serious urge to come back when the leaves are changing. Imagine this with fall colors: We arrived in Shohola after the sun went down, and stopped at the Pinehurt Country Lodge, second year running. Should you venture to this hotspot, keep in mind that the kitchen…

to the country!
It’s Thursday, the event that has been preventing me from being a good blogger happened last night and is officially in my past, and tomorrow I have a half Friday. Life. is. good. If you follow us on twitter (@lazytravelers, do it!), you may have noticed that I was on a hunt for Boston hotel tips last week. WELP, surprise, surprise, change of plans! For this weekend’s adventures with B & K, we’ll be trekking it to Shohola, PA for a weekend of river walking, beer drinking, fire-building (well, B will handle that part), and barbecuing. Through a friend of…
