a very responsible wino weekend: a story in photos

    May 21, 2012 /

Happy Monday, travelers! We hope everyone had adventurous, fun-filled weekends, no matter where you were. On Weekend 3 of the Month of Me, I had big hopes for a fun yet responsible weekend in DC, and I think I accomplished just that. A little outdoor sporting activity, some cultural and art education, and a couple alcoholic rewards for my efforts. Outdoor drinks at Top Golf Budweiser Beer Bucket. My favorite.  American Art Museum George Washington Carver, the inventor of peanut butter. Whaaaa! The dude. How I ended up here, I’m not sure. Video Game Art. Or something.  American Art Museum, Luce Foundation Center…

We’re not going to apologize again for our lack of posting, because excuses, excuses, am I right? Just know that we’ll be back in full swing ASAP, friends. Let’s get right to the good stuff: Sign #16 sounds an awful lot like us. 17 Signs That You Travel A Lot We’re weird enough to try some of these (the romantic has gone to #5), but Le Musée de la Poupée looks very, very scary. 5 Quirky Things to Do in Paris So pretty! A Walk Through One of Britain’s Last Wildflower Meadows As self-proclaimed travel writers, is it bad that we’ve…

the month of me: week one recap

    May 7, 2012 /

As it’s officially Day 7 of the Month of Me, I thought I’d share with you the highs and lows of my brilliant brainchild thus far. The highs, to date, include: Days in the gym: 4 Pounds lost: 3.2 Cookies consumed: infinity These statistics may seem counterintuitive, but let’s remember: while I pledged to work harder at the gym, I also pledged to indulge. Which means, I can eat all the cookies I want, as long as I make it to the gym. Am I right? That doesn’t mean my first week was all roses. What I’m struggling with the…

a mexican getaway for four // all my bags aren’t packed, but we’re ready to go

    May 4, 2012 /

As K informed us this morning, we are officially three short weeks from our romantic Mexican getaway for four, and I am not exaggerating when I say that I am bursting at the seams. Bursting, I say! First of all, we very clearly booked ourselves into a couples-only resort for a long weekend, so we’re assuming we’ll make or break at LEAST one couple’s honeymoon. Second of all, I am craving summer, my friends. It is bad. I splurged on three pairs of new sandals last week, I painted my toes neon pink this weekend, and on Monday, the hubs…

It’s one of those days. The wino is trying her best to find positivity via retail therapy, the romantic took a stab at it with Mister Softee. Nothing is working, travelers. The weather is all over the place, people are moody, and we want out. We can’t even focus long enough to write a real NTR. It’s bad. Instead, we’ll provide you with a photo from our latest target of wanderlust: Scotland. Scotland – Travel Guide xo! the romantic & the wino
