    the importance of park-hopping

    April 16, 2012 /

Is anyone else cursing Mother Nature for giving us what is hands down the most gorgeous day of the year on a MONDAY? Ok, good, me too. This weekend, the hubs and I took Parker McPugface to the dog parks in Carl Shurz Park, which is basically my most favorite park in all of Manhattan. Forget that Parker doesn’t really DO dog parks–we tried both the large and small dog runs and he sat off to the side and stared at us. Carl Shurz is on the East River and the running/walking/strolling-pushing (duh, it IS the Upper East Side) path…

    jetsetters: @travelcanucks (part two)

    April 11, 2012 /

Good morning and a happy hump day, travelers! We have part two of our jetsetters series featuring the Traveling Canucks (@travelcanucks on Twitter!) annnd we’re pretty excited about it. In the event that you missed part one, you can catch up here. Um also, Cam & Nicole–we may have forgotten to mention this: part of being a jetsetter is you have to take us on your next big trip.  SURPRISE! It’s ok! Given your upcoming itinerary, we’ll be perfect traveling mates for you. And the wino has babysitting experience! Favorite “I can’t believe I’m doing this” moment: Watching the sunrise while…

    i DO heart new york!

    April 9, 2012 /

This weekend was one of those staycation-type weekends that cured just a little bit of my latest streak of New York angst. I go through this every single time we move–mostly because it makes me realize just how absurd and expensive it is to survive in this city. Lucky for me, my sister came to visit this weekend and the hubs and I were forced to find the best of the best to entertain her (she’s very demanding) (total joke, she’s a complete #1, remember?). Aside from the usual requirements of food, food, and more delicious food, we also made…

    April 4, 2012 /

Oh happy hump day, friends. As usual, our midweek celebration is well earned and today we’re sharing it with Cam & Nicole at Traveling Canucks. Yes, it’s true. We’ve found yet another pair who has stolen our hearts through their love of all things travel and craft beer. They put so much thought into their answers that we’re breaking this one down into two posts. Also? We love that they’ve included links directly to some of their posts in their answers! Click over to read more, and follow them on twitter! Favorite Place: This is a tough question since neither of…

    pura vida!

    April 2, 2012 /

Happy Monday, travelers! Now that we’re (almost) out of the moving haze we’ve been living in for the past month, it’s time to focus on the important things in life. Who needs to be concerned about whether or not we have enough space to keep all of the hubs’s shoes when there’s a trip to plan!? (Just jooookes, hubs, your shoes can stay. THE GOLF CLUBS, on the other hand…) As you may recall, the hubs and I booked ten days in Panama and Costa Rica, and already things have changed. We did some research AFTER booking our airfare (hint: that’s not…
