the lazy traveler’s guide to the wizarding world of harry potter

Ok, first thing’s first. I have advice to give on this whole Wizarding World of Harry Potter shebang, but I feel there are some important facts to keep in mind before reading: Large crowds stress me out and cause me mild anxiety. Waiting in lines SUUUUCKS. I only like the children of people I know and like. I don’t do roller coasters. I’m not really a theme park person. Some of my tips may be a big old “DUH” for those of you who frequent such places. With all that in mind, I can tell you that I LOVED HP…

    jetsetters: @grlwithgumption

It’s that time of the week again! Today’s jetsetter is Melanie of @grlwithgumption, who told us it was her long-term goal to become a jetsetter. I think we probably were supposed to, like, make her work for it? But really, her blog tagline is “I lost my dignity somewhere over the Atlantic” and she enjoys day drinking, so we thought we should nail this one down before she lost interest. Enjoy! WHY hello! I’m one year older and spent my weekend in a weird dichotomy between feeling ten years old while theme park hopping on Friday and 65+ while pool hopping and golf cart riding in a retirement community the rest of the weekend. It was perfection. More details to come, but I thought this morning would be an appropariate time to shower you with iphone photos. By which I mean to say: standard Monday morning brain fuzz is affecting me from writing anything coherent. Don’t worry: a full review of the Wizarding World of HP is in order for later…

the lazy travelers’ guide to paddy’s day

On St. Patrick’s Day, everyone in America wants to be a little bit Irish. I confess: I’m guilty of playing up my half-Irish heritage every year on March 17th (who wouldn’t!), and St. Patrick’s Day has been and will always be one of my favorite holidays. As a little girl, I remember gathering at my Nan’s house with my family, stuffing myself with Irish potatoes, much to my German mother’s disdain. As an adult, I unabashedly wear my green and spend the day at the pub with Irish and non-Irish friends alike. That’s the Irish-American way. Three years ago, the…
