    greetings from rockville, maryland!

    December 6, 2011 /

I’m here, I’m here! After a relatively painless move in the Volvo, I can now call Rockville, Maryland my home. And it ain’t too shabby. Sure, its no booming metropolis. It’s more of a small town with a recently built-up main street, but it’s home and I LIKE IT! Our apartment is right on the main street overlooking the town square, which at the current moment is complete with a CHRISTMAS TREE AND ICE SKATING RINK a la Rockefeller Center. Maybe its the small town atmosphere or maybe it’s my beautiful new kitchen, but I’ve been experiencing a serious case…

    pre-move panic

    December 2, 2011 /

You know what’s hard? Packing my ENTIRE LIFE into a Volvo sedan. ESPECIALLY when there are Christmas decorations involved (and we all know these are a priority over things like furniture and home goods). And yet, moving to a new city is not a foreign concept for me. This will be my seventh big move in seven years, so I’d like to consider myself somewhat of a pro. I moved to Ireland for an entire year with only TWO suitcases.  I moved to Philly on a train. Seriously. But in my ripe old age of twenty six, moving has become more of a hassle…

    beer pressure

    December 1, 2011 /

I’d like to take a moment and pat myself on the back: I’ve come a long way from my Smirnoff Ice-drinking ways of freshman year of college (oooh doesn’t that just make you want to gag?). Though this may be hard to believe, when we planned our October getaway, hubs and I didn’t set out to have such a beer-centric European itinerary. It just happened, we swear it. When we arrived in Amsterdam, we had no choice but to visit the World of Heineken: From there, things spiraled quickly out of control. Seriously, check out what happened in Bruges: After…

    jetsetters: @LolaDiMarco

    November 30, 2011 /

Today’s Jetsetter has an alter ego: though her real name is Lauren, her sassier side goes by Lola. A contributor to HuffPo Travel and TravelDudes.org (two of our favorite sources for No Travel Required), we also recommend checking out Lauren’s personal travel blog for more travel tips and quips: where in the world is lola? And with her list of upcoming trips, we’ll try to put our jealousy aside and keep up. Let us know next time you’re in NYC, Lola! Enjoy! Favorite Place: St. Bart’s, French West Indies – it is tres chic just like Lola. More importantly, favorite meal: A multiple…

Not-so-secret secret: we love any excuse to act like a tourist.  Tourism for Locals How do you not spend the rest of the day feeling super heebie-jeebie? I’m a mix of impressed and horrified by this traveler. In other news, we can add the “Siam Insect Zoo” to our list of places to avoid forever. My date with a baby scorpion at the Siam Insect Zoo However, on our list of places to go asap, you will now find this: What’s for Dinner at…Dinner by Heston Blumenthal  Oh, and in case you haven’t heard: American Airlines Files for Bankruptcy But…
