    #LTselects: la clé des montagnes

    June 10, 2015 /

We’ve found our South African spirit animal, and it goes by the name of La Clé des Montagnes. The latest induction to our #LTselects series, this boutique hotel in South African wine country was most certainly love at first sight. Our first day of sightseeing in the Western Cape came to end in the town of Franschhoek, where our Hands Up Holidays guide, Janise, dropped us off at our accommodations for the evening: La Clé des Montagnes, a small collection of villas situated on a private estate. So, how much do we love La Clé des Montagnes? Let us count…

the lazy girls’ guide to exploring south africa’s western cape: part 1

    June 9, 2015 /

We hate to make excuses, but we’re so happy to say we’re here to finally start writing about our time in South Africa. But before we dive into our time exploring South Africa’s Western Cape, we want to offer a little apology. We’re sincerely sorry for the delay! If you’re curious why we’ve taken so long to start writing about our #LTsouthafrica trip, we do have two very legitimate reasons: 1. Our lives have been a bit topsy turvy the past few weeks… read: very, very busy. 2. More importantly, every time we think back on our week in South…

    a tour of morocco // 3 riads, 2 cities, 1 weekend

    June 8, 2015 /

Since our first trip to Morocco just before Christmas 2013, I had been itching to return. Our tour of Morocco via Marrakech and roadtrip out to the Sahara sparked something. That something was a real need to properly shop the souks.  We flew EasyJet on our first trip, so there was truly no way anything I’d buy would make it back. Their €60 baggage fee just wasn’t in the cards at the time, due to both a student budget and PRINCIPLES. Fast forward to earlier this year, when an invitation to crash a girls’ weekend popped up. If you’ve been…

amberlair // the world’s first crowdsourced boutique hotel

    June 1, 2015 /

    – This post is in partnership with Amberlair, the world’s first crowdsourced boutique hotel – Our 19 year old selves would be very disappointed by this next sentence, but here it is: when it comes to travel, we’ve gotten more selective. Gone are the days of two layovers and a friend of a friend’s couch, all in the name of adventure. And yeeeaah, you can keep your hostels with your bunks beds and your shared bathrooms. But that should be obvious, no? We’re inching toward 30, so it’s natural our tastes would evolve and, in some cases, become downright picky.…

a mini reunion & a failed ode to brunch

    May 21, 2015 /

If you’re reading the title of this post and feeling like an ode to brunch has probably already happened around here, the answer is: it’s highly probable. If there’s one thing we love, it’s brunch. Pair this with the fact that we were briefly together in Philadelphia this weekend, and you basically have the recipe for the most perfect Sunday Funday! Oh right, so, small confession: we’ve kinda been holding out on you. Last weekend, we were blissfully reunited in Philadelphia… for about five minutes. We meant to loop you in a bit more, and if you were paying close…
