of castles & cliffs: a photo essay

    June 16, 2014 /

Aside from Dublin, it’s a safe bet that the two biggest Ireland musts for most travelers are, arguably, Blarney Castle and the Cliffs of Moher. This is why, after our quick tour of Cork, it was back in the car to hit up these landmarks en route to our three nights in Galway. To be perfectly honest, pre-Blarney Castle, I was 100% take or leave the entire experience. I definitely had no desire to kiss the stone (namely due to articles like this), and pictures of the castle itself didn’t knock my proverbial socks off. Post-Blarney Castle? I’m, like, 60%…

    travel announcement: #LTcoast2coast (part two!)

    June 15, 2014 /

With one last week of nothing to do (thank you, student life), and while the wino is kicking back on the Jersey Shore, we’ll be waving from the other side of the Atlantic for part two of #LTcoast2coast… That’s right. As is always the way, our time in France has officially flown by. With only a few more weeks to go, the hubs and I are making the most of our time left. By leaving. To be fair, we’ve done a pretty killer job of ticking everything off our Frenchie bucket list—Normandy, Champagne, Colmar, Cassis: check, check, checkity check.  From…

    travel announcement: #LTcoast2coast (part one!)

    June 12, 2014 /

In exactly 16 days, I’ll be on my way to one of my favorite vacation spots in the world. Forget Europe, I’m talking about the Jersey Shore. Since I was a baby, my family has been traveling to the Jersey coastline during the summer months for quality time together and good old-fashioned American vacations “down the shore.” Over the years, we’ve stayed in just about every town along the southern shore points– Stone Harbor, Avalon, Sea Isle City, Ocean City, Brigantine, and Long Beach Island. This year, we’re returning to Avalon, where my family has been renting a house on the…

confessions of an unintended italy addict

    June 10, 2014 /

Entirely unexpectedly, 2014 has become the year of Italy. Before we came to INSEAD, the hubs and I knew we had about three week-long breaks, and one 3-week winter holiday. We mentally filled those weeks very quickly, and booked them nearly just as soon… and no where, not once, was Italy included in our 11-month plan. So then tell me, dear readers, how is this the third time I’m headed to Italy this year? First there was Rome, and most recently, I shaped up and shipped myself out to Capri for a few days with friends. You would think this…

new york city’s best outdoor bars + restaurants

    June 8, 2014 /

Call us predictable, but, in spite of our pale skin, one of our favorite things about summer is drinking outside. Lucky for us, New York City has no shortage of amazing outdoor bars and restaurants! So where in this concrete jungle are the best options for getting your drink on? The Lazy Travelers investigate! aka: we spent many summer months getting drunk at these locales. The Standard Biergarten, 848 Washington Street // Ok, so techniiically this biergarten has a roof and is hidden away from the sunshine, but in the summer months it’s completely open air. Connected to the ultra hip…
