    merry, merry! an #LTfrancais flashback

    December 24, 2013 /

OH Christmas, we love you so. The holidays, if you couldn’t tell, are our main squeeze. Mid-december last year took us to Switzerland and Dublin, where we succumbed to pure merry, cheery Christmas spirit almost immediately, mostly thanks to the mass amounts of decorated trees on every corner. This is why it was extra fitting that #LTfrancais kicked off just after Thanksgiving — prime time for seeking out the very best lights and decoration that Paris has to offer. Our first day was admittedly perfect, but as soon as the sun set and the lights flickered on, we fell in…

six lessons i’ve learned as an english speaking expat

    December 19, 2013 /

Well, bonjour and hello! First thing’s first, let’s get this out of the way right off the bat: my French is très rusty. I tried! I got a tutor and was going to class twice a week and being a good little Francophile, and yet, I am still only able to speak in the present. WTF is with passé composé, huh? Then, we went on all these trips to English-speaking places and my accent just never got better and Frenchies continue to switch to English almost automatically, or WORSE, they carry on in French while I silently panic and my…

    style spotter: holiday party

    December 18, 2013 /

While the romantic is off to exotic Morocco for the holidays, I’m leaning towards a more traditional Christmas season, complete with snow, roaring fires, and of course, glasses upon glasses of champagne. Our wish list is complete, which leaves me to focus on the second most important feat a girl must conquer during the holidays: what, oh what, to wear to all of the upcoming parties… Have no fear! I’m here to share my holiday style inspiration (courtesy of a full day at work spent procrastinating, ahthankyouverymuch). If you’re lazy like us, you may not have the energy or patience…

    jetsetters: christina of fleeting life

    December 17, 2013 /

Hello and happy Tuesday! #TravelTuesday, even. How thrilling, and fitting that today’s jetsetter is Christina of Fleeting Life. We like her for lots of reasons, but one of them is definitely because she’s a self-described travel-crazed goofball. What’s not to love about that? She also currently lives in Madrid, so psst… Christina: can you mail us some cava? Get to know Christina a little bit better by reading her choice answers below, and then hop on over to Twitter and say hi! Or Facebook! Or get extra tech-like and add her on Google+. So many options, you guys. Favorite meal: Does…

    barcelona bites: tapas for everyone!

    December 16, 2013 /

True story: if the hubs and I didn’t move just south of Paris, Barcelona was a very close second. I had mixed feelings about this possibility for a few reasons, and most of them were, unsurprisingly, food-based. Living off of baguettes & brie & pain au chocolat for a year? Oui, oui, eeetttt oui. But a year full of tapas? I mean, it’s very non-specific. I could never quite envision myself leading a life filled with sangria and jamon and tapas for everyone… because, well, for one, I had never been to Spain, and two: tapas can mean anything as…
