#lteuropa bucket list takedown: salzburg & hallstatt

    September 12, 2013 /

There’s no question: our #LTeuropa reunion of love went way, way too fast. This is why, with only a few days left in our Viennese apartment, we made an executive decision regarding the bucket list: We would visit Salzburg and Hallstatt in one day. Though we had originally planned to dedicate two days to daytrips outside of the city, we just enjoyed the slow-paced process of eating and drinking our way through Vienna far too much. This meant that we were running out of time before our departure for Prague, and needed to consolidate. After briefly researching car rentals (i.e.…

making our way to australia’s red centre

    September 11, 2013 /

After Melbourne and Phillip Island and Melbourne again, the hubs and I high-tailed it for Australia’s Great Ocean Road. To be honest, I was sick as a dog, and sidebar: why is that a saying? So even though the Great Ocean Road was beautiful, it wasn’t enjoyable for me and my runny nose. I spent most of the time napping, with the hubs dutifully waking me for anything photo-worthy. At the end of the Great Ocean Road came Adelaide, which was mostly spent recouping in one of our favorite AirBnb experiences to date and planning our next leg: the Outback. Way…

    jetsetters: whitney of daily francophile

    September 10, 2013 /

Well lookie here, it’s jetsetter day! Say hello to Whitney of Daily Francophile, who is currently spending her days in Marseille as she pursues her PhD. Fancy! Also, she shares our love for cheese, macarons, AirBnb and WINE! In all caps, with the exclamation point. Clearly Whitney of Daily Francophile is our kinda girl. Favorite Place: Les Calanques, Marseille, France. Gorgeous relatively untouched gloriousness that reminds you that the rep Marseille is given can’t be all true. More importantly, favorite meal: I love food. So much. I am not sure I can chose one meal but here are some things I thought…

#lteuropa bucket list takedown: austrian wine country

    September 8, 2013 /

We had high hopes for Austrian wine country. But on the day we tackled this bucket list item, it was cold and rainy, like most of the days we spent in Vienna. In spite of the gray skies, we bundled up (read: bought sweatshirts en route and wore sneakers because they were the warmest footwear option we had) and made our way from the Inner Stadt to Kahlenberg, a mountain located in the 19th district of Vienna that’s speckled with small vineyards along its hills. Turns out, touring Vienna’s vineyards really does work better on a day that it’s not…

city escapes: ditching melbourne for phillip island

    September 5, 2013 /

Though we loved Melbourne with all our little hearts, we started to feel like a roadtrip out of town wouldn’t be a bad use of time. The cafes and bars were draining our wallets, and a little fresh air was starting to sound good. Enter: a mini roadtrip to Phillip Island. (God, what did camping in New Zealand DO to us city folk?!) And so it was decided: near the end of our time in Melbourne, we hopped in our cute little Europcar day rental, and made our way toward the island. Turns out, this was an amazing idea because Phillip…
