rtw rookie: planning hawaii
Well hello Lazy Traveler fans! It’s RTW Rookie back for more. Now that we’ve tackled some of the basics about my upcoming round-the-world trip, we can dig in on the individual stops. First up: planning Hawaii. As mentioned in previous posts, I’m working to operate within a backpacker budget. But, I’m also trying to skip the 16-person dorms. Unfortunately, I’m not 21 anymore. Though hibernation seems to be in our blood, we’re here to say: not this year. Getting older and wiser (and infinitely more beautiful and charming and interesting) means we’re prepared to fight. We will beat the inevitable bout of cabin fever! Normally, you can’t pay us to venture our of our apartments, let alone our borough. But for a beer tour called Brewed in Brooklyn? operation: explore eastern europe
The danger of booking a trip six months out is that you have six months to go crazy with planning. We’ve only had our trip to Eastern Europe booked for a week, and already our emails, gchats, and texts to each other have been a flurry of what to do and see on our trip… in six months. This much we know: while we’ll make Vienna our homebase, a la this post, we’ll also make small side trips to the surrounding countries and cities. 2013 travel planning: let’s do this
Over the past week, we’ve asked our Twitter followers to help with our future travel planning, and submit their best bets on where we’re headed in 2013 using the hashtag #LTGoes. From Iceland to Miami, Vancouver to Paris, we’ve had some pretty good travel inspiration thrown our way. Unfortunately, we had already made our decision.
